For the past year and a half I’ve made mention of Anderson Paak and his musical talents. Last years team up with Knxwledge was one sonically one of the best things released. He released his latest album Malibu at the beginning of the year and has immediately set the bar for the year.
Next up is Brooklyn Mc Torae, long under-rated which is a shame because the man has skills!! Joined by one of my fave Mc’s, Phonte this harks back to early 90’s hiphop and is a boom bap slap in the face. Phone’s verse is straight fire by the way.
Stumbled upon this and its quickly become a regular in my recent rotation. Sound of the summer right here!
Brandun DeShay has quietly been doing his thing for more than a few years now. The West Coast Mc came up with visuals to my fave song on his current album/Ep. Loving all the Computer game/Anime references.
Simply put OK Go have always pushed the ideas of what a music video should be. For the past 6 years from Here it Goes again to more recently I won’t Let You down they always seem to find a great concept for their videos. Their latest visual is no different!
Finally, my friend Daz has started a Friday night live mix show on Periscope called Live from the Apex. Daz is an accomplished DJ having torn up many a club and the DMC championships in his youth. The show streams every Friday night from 8pm. Check out highlights from his previous shows HERE!!!
Bonus: Simply because you should get Venice too
